Mindfulness Meditation Instruction
|
| Sandi offers individual sessions on mindfulness, the practice of becoming aware of and fully living in the present moment. This practice can provide clients with an experience of the relaxation response as they learn to be in the present with non-judgmental, moment to moment awareness. It allows the practitioner to become centered and fully engaged in life as it unfolds. When we are able to bring mindful awareness to what is happening in the moment, we cease the stress-inducing habit of multi-tasking and allow ourselves to be fully engaged in what is at hand. Only then can we be fully alive -- present to our lives! |

Gentle and Restorative Yoga Classes

| In these classes, Sandi combines gentle stretching and strengthening based on the practice of yoga with imagery for relaxation, meditation and breath awareness. These classes are held in her fully equipped private yoga studio (3 Oaks Yoga) and are intimate and small - the maximum allowed in each of the classes is 6-7. Sandi's unique style of teaching blends clear instruction and strong knowledge of postural alignment with peaceful, meditative imagery and breath work. |

Restorative Yoga |
Restorative Yoga differs from a regular yoga practice in that the emphasis is on complete relaxation. The body is supported in each pose by props. Once the body is comfortable and at ease, each pose is held from 5 to 15 minutes. This enables the healing effects of any given pose to deepen and encourages patterns of stress and tension which are held in the body and mind to gradually dissolve. Sandi modifies each pose to best suit the particular needs of the student. This practice is deeply restful and ultimately rejuvenating. It is suitable for all.
On a therapeutic level, the practice of restorative yoga is essential for those suffering from low energy due to illness. |
